Bloodletting
by Jackie Moranty
copyright 11-27-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Living just by dying,
One piece at a time,
For every new awakening,
Another hits their stride.

Sometimes I'd even welcome it,
No more fear, loneliness or pain.
I've got nothing to lose,
And everything to gain.

Most times it doesn't bother me,
This "dying by degrees".
It's nothing I can name,
Just this life that's killing me.

ROFL, Sunny, you crack me up. I promise that tomorrow, I'll write something so happy and funny, you won't even remember you own shoes. Jackie

Thanks, Nan and Bev. I'm feeling much better today. I knew you'd like this one, Bev. I guess everyone has to have their moments, huh? Jackie

Aw, Jackie, I hope you're feeling less blue today. But see how something good comes from something not so good? It's an expressive poem.

Jackie, you know me..I love these types of poems - dark and full of strong emotions. It's not your typical style and yet, you managed it really well...expressing the depression and strong feelings.

I also know you are tough - anyone who jumps back up after going through a wreck, as you did is definitely tough - and sometimes we forget, even the tough needs hugs and reassurance that "this too shall pass."

Well written.

This one is a little out of character for me, isn't it? I can usually pull out of these moods pretty easy. I think just getting it on paper and out of my system helped quite a bit. I was no where near the jumping off point, though. I'm going to stick around, I just had to blow off some steam. Thanks for the well wishes, I'm sure that I'll be back to my 'normal' (?) self soon. Jackie
