i wear her life
by Paulette Weaver
copyright 11-29-2001

Age Rating: 13 to 127

i wear her life as my own, so
close, her skin on me gives me
two

i do not belong to me for now,
my growing trembling not noticed
by her who has always been tethered
by her own unfettered fury

choose your place wisely in her
life, as she takes yours from
you, compromise, the silent
thief

I love these types of poems - symbolic free verse. I love how there can be many different meanings interwoven within one poem. All depends on your own perspective when you read it.

Myself, I read it as compromising...giving up something that is valued to meet in the middle, only at times, that middle ground is further to one side than the other....and when you realize it, it's too late. You are already emeshed in it to deep to get out. And in the process you lose the ecessence of you.

Well written, I love your style!
