The Thoughts Inside (Eight-Liner)
by John Mcleod
copyright 12-01-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Tortured by the thoughts inside
no place to run, no place to hide
fighting off the evil ways
distant memories of wayward years,

Distant memories of wayward years
fighting off the evil ways
no place to run, no place to hide
tortured by the thoughts inside.

John Mcleod

5 stars all around! You write the best 8 liners, John! This one really struck me hard. I totally understand and relate to this one. Excellent!

Another great write, John. These darned things torture my dreams, though! I keep trying. This one is excellent. Jackie

Although we know we can't change them, those memories never go away. We just learn from them. One hopes, anyway. I like how, by turning this inside out you took the tortured thoughts from "now" to "back then"--the idea that we are *always* "tortured by thoughts inside" is what comes across to me. excellent write, in MHO! :)

Life is for learning, we learn from what we do and experience, you have grown...I hope you are not really tortured, if you are then forgive yourself and go forward!
