Fairy Wishes
by Sharron Tyrrell
Were I but, a tiny fairy
with golden wings of lace,
glowing long auburn hair
and a tiny pixie face.
Dressed in iridescent scarves
stained with magic kisses.
Tiny slippers on my feet.
A wand to grant sweet wishes.
I’d dwell in a scented garden
wear blue violets for hats.
I’d fly with fancy bumble bees,
find a toadstool when I sat.
I’d hide in minute crevices
I would watch you play.
I’d sleep on a velvet bed
dream of fantasy all day.
If by chance you could see me
I’d see a twinkle in your eye.
So bewitching and elusive
to watch a tiny fairy fly.
