Cinquains for the Lonely
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 12-30-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Ailing
are the Lonely,
and needing to be healed.
Our love is the soul physician.
Attend.

Empty
are the Lonely,
and seeking to be filled.
Our love is the Living Water.
Pour forth.

Forlorn
are the Lonely,
waiting to be salvaged.
Our love is the rescue vessel.
Set sail.

Downcast
are the Lonely,
crying to be lifted.
Our love is the seraphim’s wings
Exalt.

Blessed
are the Lonely,
if we’re like our Father.
Our love should be a constant gift.
Amen.

Lyle, excellent, it is sometimes hard to climb out of the cage of loneliness that traps our soul.

THis form that is hard to master, and a topic that can get mushy, you , yes you, I am talking to you... you have mastered both,.......... heartbreaking always.

Lyle, this was a well written poem. I agree with John's comment - I also enjoyed reading the different ways you described loneliness....along with the ways to reach out to someone.

Lonely or not Lyle this was good writing. I like the way you have written this and especially the different ways to describe the feeling.

John
