Yellow Plus Blue Makes Green
Some time ago a gentleman and I were discussing the institution of marriage. He believed that if I were the color yellow and he the color blue, that the painting of a marriage between the two of us would merely be a white canvas with yellow and blue stripes or yellow and blue polka dots. I disagreed.
To me, an excellent marriage is more than two people learning to live peacefully together during the daytime hours and sharing a bed at night. Rather, the colors of yellow and blue would be splashed randomly on that white canvas. In some cases, the yellow would seem to dominate part of the page. On other parts of the page, blue would definitely be in evidence more. In many places on the canvas of married life, the colors of yellow and blue would be whirling and swirling side by side and in very intricate patterns. But, more importantly, there would be places where the yellow and blue came together to make green. Two becoming one, in mind, body and spirit. That, to me, is the definition of an excellent marriage – one designed by our Creator.
Note: A new friend pointed out something to me today that I hadn't even considered. When one mixes together the colors of yellow and blue to make green, the colors are mixed forever and cannot be undone. So it should be with marriage. Two becoming one, in mind, body and spirit - forever.

I was just scrolling around and saw this one. I mean as in saw it to stop and take a look and talk to it. To see where it had been, and maybe where it was going, but at least where it wanted to go. What I was told was that a rather curious blending had happened in its life. These two particular colors had managed to find a way to become green, a separate entity from the yellow and blue, but responsible to them for its being. At the same time, both yellow and blue retained their own uniquenesses. (The dictionary and I don't always agree. I always win. ^_^) I started to question whether they were additive or subtractive colors, and I was quickly told that I was belaboring the point and trying to move their essence into an arena where they hadn't been placed--my logic was faulty. Neither could I present an argument for what they were made of--ground minerals, earth, natural dyes, unnatural dyes, plastic, powder, and so on. Again, I was told that if I couldn't accept the harmony of their being as they had been presented, perhaps it would be better if I looked in some other arena where my philosophical attitude would be more appreciated. I had to conclude that they were right. And so I left them, the yellow and the blue to be a sometimes permanent green, but to always be together, even when showing off their individual colors, the green giving purpose and focus to their otherwise singular existences.
Some thoughts conjured on a Sunday morning by a writing such as yours.
I really enjoyed this very well written and being someone who dables in painting as well as poetry the title caught my attention the content kept it to the end.
