Always Glad
by Paulette Weaver
copyright 01-09-2002

Age Rating: 7 to 127

To be writing poetry at almost 60 years old
like a schoolgirl, I must be mad! But
words are my life, my sustenance,
my pad and pencil attached like
another arm, listening to old
78 records for inspiration.

This is a sweet little poem and I love the fact that you admit you are getting older and love of old habbits (writing) have not died.

The thing is Paulette, you are not really mad at all. I think we all at some times, (Especially poets) think that we are a little mad.

To live and not fullfill your dreams is mad, to live and try to project what you are is very sane my friend.

Funny you should mention it, I am taping my Dad's and Mom's 78's finally. I cry when I hear them for the first time in 50 years...my parents are gone now and the records take me back.
