Mommy I Love You
by Anna Kindred
copyright 02-11-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I don't know if this allowed or not, but my 11 year old daughter wrote a poem and wanted me to write it where other people could read it.

Good morning Mommy, it's time to wake up,
I poured you some coffee, in your favorite cup.

I'm ready for school, I promise to be good,
come on Mommy, let's go, I know that we should.

Mommy, please open your eyes, let me see them shine.
Come on the bell will ring, at anytime.

Mommy, you are scaring me, please get up,
I will do all my chores, just lift your head up.

Mommy, please don't leave me, I don't want to cry.
Mommy, I love you, but now it's goodbye.

Apparently, my daughter killed me off in her poem. This was written by Kristen G. Dubea, 11 years old.

Kristen (c/o Anna),
You are very talented! A fear of losing our mother is one we all can relate to and you expressed it beautifully.

Oh PS, I put up a few of my son's poems here as well, maybe Kristen would like to read them--they all start their titles with "Danny's [whatever]" (on my author page).

Hi Anna and Kristen, nice to "meet" you. :-) Maybe she was just trying to tell you how much she loves you and doesn't want you to, um, not wake up??? It's a very good write, Kristen, it made me feel scared, too.

I wouldn't rush her to the therapist just yet. One of my daughters once told her teacher that I "didn't exist in any real form". At least yours had the decency to give you a funeral.
