A Gentle Song

A Gentle Song

A feeling of turmoil washes over me,
Fresh scented, wild, a gentle sting
Inviting a passion reckless, and free.

Enthrall completely through eternity
With this ecstasy, what shall bring?
A feeling of turmoil washes over me.

Did I hear it murmur to me?
Have you noticed it softly sing
Inviting a passion reckless, and free.

United together in our reverie
Entwine forever, it shall be spring
A feeling of turmoil washes over me,

Rapture present, can not you see,
Soaring with a careless fling
Inviting a passion reckless, and free.

In the twilight a chime shall ring
A ballet of passion on the wing,
Inviting a passion reckless, and free.
A feeling of turmoil washes over me.

Kay lee kelly

Gentleness doesn't seem to be at the heart of your poem, Kay Lee; turmoil, passion, and ecstasy are the words that ring out, giving the reader the feeling that opposites really do attract.

04-28-2003 Caitlin Mazur

You have some big words so I don't know what to say, but the parts i know are good. What the heck is a turmoil?!

03-16-2003 Amber Talwar

Perfect ! thank U for introducing this rhyme scheme I was unaware of it! but last stanza has 4 lines u can do away that.

03-11-2002 Bob Church

Too long coming, in my opinion... congratulations, Kay Lee.

You have a very fine hand for powerful imagery, your passion almost disturbs my otherwise tranquil mind! (This is a good thing.) I really enjoyed your style, it's refreshing to see more and more methods of expression being utilized and explored. Thank you for sharing your wild passion with us; I feel like letting my hair down and abandoning my world of pretense for your world of reckless passion!

Absolutely spectacular! I have but one question... is it standard form for the last stanza to have the fourth line? This is beautiful...

I like the way you wove in the two main thoughts in each verse, starting and ending with them both and then alternating. This is an interesting one to study....
