A poem to encourage those who need help to escape from bad situations

Pheonix, rise again
Fly because you can;
Words will set you free
Don't let a pushy man
Keep you in captivity
No right has the right;
The grounds of decency
Say you should win the fight
Be all that you can be.

I know, I contribute, I care, I share, I ache, I believe that no one should be subjected to misery due to someone's mean attitude, poverty or lack of education.

I understand that I cannot forcefully drag someone from what she considers her home, no matter how miserable.
I cannot convince her to leave the father of her children even though he is abusive to her and the children.

I cannot understand though, why this goes on in a world where there is an opportunity to take these children to a safe place, a clean place, a warm place, a happier place where they may gain self esteem and good food and a feeling of joy in the world.

I keep reading about sad relationships, about mean people.....life is short, misery should be left behind....the future can be bright....

If one person changes her life, leaves an abusive situation because of my writing, I would Thank God for giving me the opportunity to help point her in the right direction.....

That's right! We need to keep rising from the ashes, like the Phoenix of myth.

An inspiration, and well done, Thank you.

Thanks Betty. You seem to have found a wonderful niche, that of talking about things many of us see but ignore.

This should have a standing ovation!

Peggy, I tried to email, I think it got lost. I am having trouble typing through my emotion (tears), I am so happy that you took the Phoenix and are here to share beautiful thoughts and a better life. I am sorry for the loss of your dreams and innocence. No one should hold someone hostage.......

Betty, Beautiful Im so glad and proud to see this piece. I took the Phoenix once in my life.
If I had not then I would not be here writing today. Shot at by guns, held hostage by my own spouse. Broken bones replaced smile cuts abrasians you name it he did it.

i fianlly got the courage to walk away. Why did I stay, fear, his quilting. But the pain grew to much and then he turned on the children I wasnt a large enough punching bag. Again thank you for this encouraging poem for those still held hostage for what ever reason in a relationship which only spells death and destruction.
