My Knight
by Jeff Holt
copyright 02-23-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

*** PLEASE NOTE ***
This is a poem I wrote for my husband, Jeff. He wanted me to post this poem on his page until mine is authorized.
He is my knight in shining armor, the love of my life, and the one I have waited for all of my life. To say he is special, is an understatement, so this is just for him. ~ Debi

My Knight

I love him in so many ways;
So many reasons why I do.
He is sincere and always betrays
An open book a heart so true.

Simple things bring happiness to life
Simple pleasures most don't see
For complex things bring strife
Simplicity is the real key.

He rides a horse, brandish bare
With sword in hand
Over life's troubles with pre-cautious care
He takes his stand.

Like a true knight of old
Armor shining boldly, bright
Yet, depths of love to behold
And arms of steel that hold me tight.

His touch is so soft and gentle
His caress like a butterfly's wings
And yet by far, his hands are instrumental
In touching my hearts strings.

He has valor like an abyss, but I can see
In eyes that capture the stars
And hold them in pools of rich coffee
A spirit that can't be contained in jars.

Cannot be held back too long
For the noble, gallant and true self
Has broken free in flight, in song
He cannot stay upon a shelf.

He has a goal, a plight
With prowess, he claims his right
Chivalry is such a sight -
This is my amazing knight.
