Hook, Lying, & Sinker
by Beverly Murrelle
copyright 02-25-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Not one artist or sculptor could gather her story,
One filled with sadness and thrown-in glory
Harassed and puzzled by evil of the world
Keeping joy at bay as her happiness hurled
Into fleeting moments over here over there
Soon to evolve with static nightmares

Not one artist or sculptor could gather her words
Standing dark distance from clustered hors d’oeuvres
Her wedding crescendo-ed...joy spiraled down
Death of her laughter, rebirth of her frown

Not one musician could gather her tune
Or shorten her length of impending doom
No writer could pen altruistic novellas
Not one honorable judge could make legal her stories
Life’s gift of joy for her overlooked
Above she was manic – underneath she was hooked.

We wear masks to hide what we feel we don't want others to see. What we don't think about is that they are too wearing masks! Thanks, Anthony
