Emotional Cycles
by Nancy Pawley
copyright 02-25-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Perpetual emotions and perplexing feelings are instilled in us
Pure as Antarctic driven snow
Persisting from the very moment of our conception

Yet we are swayed and inspired
encouraged and provoked
by complicated external ideas
Intricate and puzzling principles
taught by instrumental circumstances and instant replay events..
We are granted unregulated, unrestricted freedom
Creative license influences our own beliefs
In the pointblank range we think we have complete control
Over right and wrong,
from the ridiculous to the sublime
and what passes for inbetween

Then a special significant moment comes our way
We finally take the time to contemplate
the superior beauty of Mother Nature
Consistant in her awesome sunrises and amazing sunsets

The contrasting effects of one day's darkness spreading into light
The benevolent balance in the never ending ebb and flow
The waxing give and the waning take
The basic simplicity of the empty being filled
The damning complexity of our lives
We come to understand, then applaud our vast array of senses
The very first beginning and the very last ending
Sequent cycles of life and love
