Searching,
View from on high,
stream meandering slow,
bare prairie lonesome and windblown,
empty.
Snowfall
covers the field,
comforts the barren sod,
gently enfolds those who wait there,
forever.
Windows,
shadows linger,
night descending without
waiting, longing, yearning, watching,
alone.
Voices
transcending time,
lost to the haring world,
remembering, loving, sadness,
alone.
Soft rain
covers the field,
giving a gift of life,
dry earth accepts with waiting arms,
downpour.
Sundown,
night shuts the door,
filling my thoughts with fear,
amber appearing over the rim,
morning.
Wild geese
all flying free,
black of night, white of moon,
solitude phantoms of the night
return.
