Sisters

Sisters, there are three of us
blond, redhead, brunette.
We grew up together
had lots of fun you bet.

Climbing to the roof tops
shivering with fear.
Shouting out loudly “Daddy ! ”
and he would always hear.

Coming to the rescue
frowning helped us down.
We were safe until next time
and a smile replaced his frown.

Running away from home
to the woods across the street.
Sitting there watching them search
we thought it was real neat.

Always home for dinner
never ever staying past dark.
We knew where the love was
we were playing, just a lark.

Dragging home pet white rats
did it by the wagon full.
Those nasty creatures doubled
life was surely never dull.

Imagine if we had been boys
the trouble we were always in.
What terrors we turned out to be
but Dad would always grin.

Well almost always !!
