Grace

I bow my head in prayer this day,
Dear God my heart, I hope you will take.
It's dark and charred from a life of sin,
But I'll open the door-
If you want to come in.

Dear Lord I give my life to thee,
it no longer serves purpose for me.
It's tired and worn from a life of sin,
Far too long, I've waited to let you in.

Dear Jesus I thank you for your love,
which can only come from God above.
No longer am I charred within,
for the blood of Christ has covered my sins.

A light of hope and love God placed within,
to dispel the darkness, and chase away sin.
And deep in my heart; He promised me,
His love would outlast eternity.

Oh, Lord make me a witness for thee,
let others your light in me see.
You sacrificed your only son,
to save many like me- for the price of one.

Your poem is beautiful, for it is not just words or emotions penned on paper, it speaks of our wonderful Lord that I have witnessed shining through your life and actions everyday. Love, Your Sister, Teresa
