Fly Away
by Anna Kindred
copyright 03-04-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

It's been a long time coming,
please, baby, don't cry.
It isn't easy holding on,
it's hard enough to say goodbye.

But when I needed you, you weren't there,
you were too busy in your own world.
Too many nights of sleeping alone,
hugging my pillow in a body curl.

You trotted the roads and had your fill,
instead of coming home to me.
Your ring sat too long on the dresser,
now you are what you wanted to be.

Fly away, I've given you your wings,
it's time for you to soar.
Don't look back, I'm no longer there,
waiting behind the door.

Please, baby, don't shed your tears,
I've cried enough for both of us.
You've left me with nothing to hold on to,
when you broke our bond of trust.

How long did you expect me to cry,
how long did you expect me to wait?
Your cries are falling on long deaf ears,
and your apologies are way too long too late.

So please, don't cry, don't lose control,
don't shed a tear for me.
Spread your wings, soar the open skies,
I love you enough to set you free.
