'WHAT DOES THE FUTURE BRING?
Today is the day you dreamed forever,
You look out on faces, some with tears, some with smiles
All have pride in what you've done
Who you've become.
All worked hard, classes, exams, stress.
Some married, some divorced,
live at home or far from home,
But you all have something in common.
You carry with you knowledge.
Knowledge to create your own myths and legends
Knowledge of those that walked before you
As well as those to walk after.
You stand before all who've taught you, befriended you,
With you today are those who haven't made it this far,
And those who only dream your dream.
But today is the day you dreamed forever.
Today you go forth into new lives,
Lives that don't include us daily.
But you won't forget us as we won't forget you,
You've touched us, now let us touch you.
Let us show you the world,
Open your eyes and behold the wonders ahead.
Look at the trees, touch the earth,
Hear the sound of the winds, feel it hold you
Listen to the brook, hear its voice,
And listen, really listen to your hearts,
For it will never lead you astray.
For deep within you will hear the voice of the Creator
You will feel his breathe, touch his wonders,
And you will take all of us with you in your quest.
So go out in the world, but remember your refuge,
For your leaving tears a piece from our hearts
But hearts mended with your strength.
For we who love and taught you
Are proud of you, now and in the future,
For today your lives begin anew.
