Beep... Beep... Beep...

The tiny infant shifted in his incubated crib, curling his lip slightly at the foriegn noises and bright lights, all so new to him. He thrust a tiny fist upward, only to find he had minimal power over the bizarre beast that had him in its grasp. Tiny tentacles grasped at him, the suction cups attached to various parts of his wee body.

He turned his head, only to come face to face with the brightly lit mouth of the beast! The lips waved in anticipation and the glowing orange eyes glowered hungerly at him.

Again the beast let out its monotonous cry, "Beep... beep... beep..."

The infant's eyes filled with tears as the fear began to succomb him. He let out a monsterous scream... which scared him even more. Within this dimmly lit cavern, the young child wailed, hoping that someone, anyone, would save him from this beast.

A kindly woman, covered with wrinkles, came in and sat next to him. She smiled gently at the tiny baby, and instantly he was not afraid. Surely this white-haired lady was someone special, and indeed she was, for she released him from his semi-transparant cage and from te grasp of the evil beast, and held him in her arms.

Hello Amber,
This was a great piece. It's a point of view, that not many people think about. It kind of gives it a fresh new way of thinking. Like trying out a new recipe. Or exploring a new trail.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

Amber excellent presentation of how a baby thinks when they cannot tell us.. :)

Amber you've done a great job here of making us feel the infant's fear! For one so new to the world, everything must be scary.
Except Grannies of course. :-)nan
