Girl Missing
Chapter 2
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 03-08-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Each officer moved with a form of direction knowing just what needed to be done.

Aaron was already calling in the plates #”s to the station waiting for a reply of information.

Gary had alerted the station to send a detective to the scene of the abduction for possible finger prints of the captors any where on the vehicle or the pop can they found lying on the ground next to the girls vehicle.

Bruce finished checking out the vehicle thoroughly inside with Chet following behind him rechecking. Standing up from the car Chet announced,” No drugs no alcohol.”

And then Bruce added to the information,” car is clean appears she never entered the vehicle yet before she was abducted.

Chet motioned to Gary, and said” that they would go and follow the lead heading North in the direction the clerk gave and would look for the pickup.”

Aaron waved goodbye and told them they would wait for the information on the VIN #’s and plates and then would go from there.

Aaron’s radio in the patrol car static sounds started to come thru. Ruth had located the info on the plates.

“The plates belong to a Marcus and Sally Cain of 1719 Harrison Street.” Ruth went to stand by after delivering the info to the officers.

Aaron replied, “ Ruth thanks and we will head over to the address and see if she may be home. And to check out the situation.”

Aaron headed the car over to the address, which was only five blocks away. Both officers walked to the front door and rang the doorbell. They waited before ringing it again the porch light came on.

A lady spoke from behind the front door. “Who is it”? Aaron answered Police officers we need to speak with you.

They heard a gasp and a scream for Marcus and the lady was scared. “She was ranting oh my god not Karly.” As the officers waited on that front porch, her husband could be heard trying to calm his wife down.

They could hear the locks removing from the front door and then Mr. Cain opened it. He asked” officers can I help you”.

Bruce asked if they could come in and speak with them. Mr. and Mrs. Cain both nodded yes.

Chet and Gary were still patrolling the North direction where the assailants had fled in.

Two miles up the road is the Riverside Park they pulled in even thou it was after park hour’s people always remained in the park.

They followed every pull in turn around space of the park. This park also had a boat marina launch attached to it that led to the Missouri River.

They pulled down closer to the launch. There was fresh mud on the pavement and large tracks ones of a pickup.

Gary said."Chet this may be it."

Chet stopped the car.
