The Sun and Moon

My Sun and Moon

My sun and moon, I sent away,
ordered the wind to stop, be still,
now my world is foggy gray.

All the stars have gone astray,
do not speak and please don’t tell,
I sent my sun and moon away.

My mind is empty, nothing to say,
I am left lonely on this hill,
now my world is foggy gray.

Where have they gone, what’s the delay,
I asked them back, am I to shrill,
I sent my sun and moon away.

Once more I said, please do stay.
without them here I have no will,
now my world is foggy gray.

I view my world with dismay,
I made it clear I want them here,
I sent my sun and moon away
now my world is foggy gray.

OH, they all came back, sulking a bit
wind and sun and moon are here,
they claim they never left.
Well what nerve, can’t they read??
Would I write another Villanelle (more or less
about this if it were not true??

This is from the Children's Corner, of my
soon to be (maybe) chap-book.

I love this poem..I have tried to write different poetry types, but restriction of any type is in stiff opposition to the free spirit that exists inside of my heart and soul.

A great job since I'm not too good with villanelles, I really applaud those who can do them....

Villanelles and other repetitive styles like that tend to confuse me... which is why I write mainly out of style... but I rather enjoyed this one. Thanx :)
