I used to dream of candy canes,
instead, I learned of bruises and pain,
my composure was so hard to regain,
I was lost in a dark abyss.
I fought to get out,
couldn't you hear me shout,
is this what life's about,
there must be more to life than this.
Then you came along,
and gave me a song,
for once, I belong,
I now have a life to share.
No more punches and hits,
no more screaming and fits,
life is no longer the pits,
I now have someone who cares.
Every woman deserves a man like you.
