Faded smiles, painted tears
Hopes and dreams, childhood fears
Roller coasters, pecan pies
Homemade ice cream, fire flies

Riding bikes, skinned up knees
Drive-in movies, gentle breeze
Puppy love, double dates
The love of life, trusting fate

Today

Looking back on childhood dreams
Some come to pass, some redeemed
A tear of joy comes to my eye
A whispered memory of days gone by
