copyright 03-13-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

The officers still had two hours remaining of their shift. Gary called in to the station he spoke to dispatch,”Ruthie we are back in the cars.” “Any news on this search for the girl?”

Static keyed up on the radio as Ruth returned their call. “Well it’s about time you guy’s went to work.” She paused and then continued,” "No not a thing just keep a look out for any suspicious characters.”

Gary replied,”Okay we will do that the rest of the shift, unless we are needed on any other assignment.”

“Ruth the four of us are going back out to the café for coffee.” Chet now had the mic from Gary.“ By the way Ruth if your gone when we get back to the station have a nice day.” Ruth replied,“Yeah you guys too.”

They arrived at the café,all four of the officers went in to order coffee to go. After this shift the four of them would be off work for two days.

Chet and Gary also Bruce were all married. Aaron was a single 20 year old. He had been with the force for 6 months so he was still green.

Sally greeted them’” well look what the cat drug in.” Coffee guys?” She heard four replies for coffee. They sat for a while in their favorite booth close to the front door. They were accustomed to making quick exits if they were dispatched to the scene of a crime.

Bruce motioned to Sally to return to their table. He said, Sally do be a dear could you set up four coffees to go and make them large to finish out the shift for this weekend.” She replied, sure boy’s I will be right back.”

Shortly she returned with four cups of coffee to go. Bruce asked for the bill. She smiled and said” Coffee is on me boys see you Wednesday night.” They all thanked her and said goodbye then went to their squad cars.

Aaron shouted ,”Hey Chet where you headed?” Chet rubbed his head and then he answered.” I figured we would patrol the park area and the south side finish up in middle of town and then borrowing no incidents, we will head into the station to call it a night.”
Bruce replied,” It’s a plan we will head up north side and cover the middle and return back to the station also.”

Both agreed they would meet up at the station.

Chet pulled his squad car out first and turned to head south towards the park again.

And Bruce turned their car towards the north side. Both squad cars carried out their rounds of the town and then headed back to the station and called it a night.
