After the Rain
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 05-30-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

I had this place,
down in the core of me
that cried at night,
in silent misery.
And then you came
and brought your love, you see;
filled up the void, that kept me lonely.

I had this dream,
all tucked away inside.
I kept it still -
you made it come alive.
I drank your eyes,
I sipped your sunny smile
and joy was mine for just a little while.

Yes, you_________________
showed me I could feel again!
Made me see_____________
there’s more to life than pain!
Oh, you_________________
revealed that there is love again!
A rainbow and a pot of gold __!
After the rain.

And hope lives on,
sometimes it’s all we need.
And it remains,
a balm of alchemy
I close my eyes
and sense you there each night;
you’re everything I need, to make things right!

Because, you_________________
showed me I could feel again!
Made me see_____________
there’s more to life than pain!
Oh, you_________________
revealed that there is love again!
A rainbow and a pot of gold____!
after the rain.
Like in those fairytales of old,
a rainbow and a pot of gold……
after the rain.

What a lovely piece from the past...both my reading and living...
I have read this warm and charming poem a few years ago...I am reading again and feel the same... Sad and warm rain on my cheeks..
Thank you, dear Lyle!

Who needs the radio? I love the music I find right here!

joy was mine for just a little while... And the cliche that comes to mind? It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all! :-)
