A few moments passed and she seen the lady walk slowly towards the door.
” Marcus there is a lady about to ring the doorbell.” She said with a puzzling voice.
“I’ve never seen her before.” She continued.
“Honey it is probably a reporter or someone in the neighborhood.” He answered her.
The doorbell rang and Mrs. Cain opened the door. “Hello can I help you?” She directed the question towards the stranger in front of the door.
The lady she didn’t answer she just looked at Mrs. Cain. She finally spoke,” I want to tell you and your family I am truly sorry for what has happed with your daughter.” She finished.
“And I need to speaks with you and your husband.” She spoke again. “May I speak to you?” She asked again.
Sally called for Marcus in the next room still not inviting the lady in. “Marcus please come to the front door.” She asked while watching the lady.
Marcus was standing right next to her when he asked the lady,” And your name is?”
“My name is Terri Miles.” She answered. “I know this is strange it is for me also.” She continued.
“ I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the gift.” She hesitated to continue.
“What gift?” Sally asked her.
“Some say I have a gift for seeing and feeling things.’” She replied.
“My mother and her mother both had it, the gift.” She continued.
“Do you mean you have ESP?” Marcus almost laughed when he asked.
“Let’s just say, well I would like to share with you a vision I seen of Karly.” She stopped and looked at both of them.
Marcus looked at Sally and they both agreed that Terri should come in and speak with them. They all went and sat down at the dining room table.
Sally asked Terri if she would like coffee or tea. Terri told her “No don’t bother yourself.” She replied to the question.
I just want to share with you what I have seen. “My gift comes to me in pieces of small puzzles. Last night at 11:00 p.m.
I was sitting on the front porch.” She started to explain.
“That is when the first part of the puzzle came.”
“Traffic was going up and down that side of town all night long.”
“Summer now so kids are out in their cars driving all hours of the night.” She stopped.
“Several times I seen this truck that I have never seen before drive by.” “It was painted like something you would have seen in the fifties.”
“Two toned it was white and turquoise separated in sections.” She paused.
“Every time it passed the house though I couldn’t help but to be drawn to it.” She now looked distant as if dreaming as she spoke to them.
“Yes it had an aura of evil about it the kind of thing that makes one shudder with fear.” She said.
“And then it didn’t drive back again all night.” She said.
“That is when it happened.” She stated with urgency.
Both Sally and Marcus listened with intent interest and concern.
