Captain Blye's Rose
by Mary -BrytEyz- Ball (Age: 38)
copyright 03-14-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Rose Petals on the floor
scattered about in disarray
He came to pluck her beauty
without asking if he may

Soft, her folds inviting
exciting the beast within
Left her the mess to deal with
dried in defiled chagrin

Intoxicating sight
Inhaled aromas beyond compare
He grabbed the thornless blossom
by velvet feeling hair

Plucked her from the foliage
to watch her wither and die
Disgraced the virgin's honor
when he stole like Captain Blye

What a fleeting treasure
She's left with an empty chest
Buried poisoned emotions
It was only for the best

But roots grow down and deep
keep sucking up truth from it's depths
revealing the rot he left her
splattered upon her breast

Epitome of resplendence
complete and utter perfection
violated, neglected
meets only with rejection

Sprawled upon the floor now
tears tossed like petals of a rose
What paragons were lost us
I'm not sure anyone knows

Your words are much to pretty to be used to describe this action. The poem leaves me mad and yet it is such a beautiful piece,I find myself smiling. I feel guilty for the smile yet it still does not leave my face! Thank you for pointing me this way, Anthony
