Girl Missing
Chapter 16
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 03-15-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Morning soon arrived the alarm went off.

Aaron reached for the alarm on the bed stand he hit the shut off button and laid there with his arm extended on the top of the alarm.

A few more minutes went by and then he swung himself from his bed. Headed down the hallway to make a pot of coffee.

Visited the bathroom. And then went back down the hallway to get the morning paper on the front porch.

He returned to the kitchen poured himself his first hot cup of java of the morning.

Sat down at the counter on the stool and began to read the paper.

A picture of Karly was on the front page. Story about her nothing new just that she was abducted and missing no leads yet. No new news. They don’t print a lot about the case.

That way the assailants wont know they are really on to anything.

Aaron finished his coffee. He went back to the bedroom to put on his jogging suit.

He laced his tennis shoes and headed out the front door. His feet hit the walkway and at the end of his he turned and started jogging up the street.

Aaron jogged his usual two miles. Waving to the same familiar faces in the neighbor hood that he had seen every morning over the past three years.

He lived in a nice north side neighborhood; nice people nice homes really clean area.

After returning to his house he poured another cup of coffee. Picked up Terries number
from the counter.

Laid it back down. Finished his coffee. Then he headed to the bathroom to shower. It was now 9:30 A.M.

After a shower and he had changed he went out to the phone on the counter. And dialed Terries number. The phone rang three times before he heard Terri say,
“Hello.”

“Hello Terri just returning your call, this is Aaron.” He said.

“I’m glad you called.” She replied.

“I would have returned your call sooner but I went to my friends last night came home a little late.” He replied.

"So what's up?" he asked.

“I just wanted to let you know that I drove back out there in the car after we left the park yesterday.” She said.

“And what happened.” He asked.

“Nothing happened.” She replied

“I don’t want you doing anything alone on this hunch of yours.” He said seriously.

“I wont I promise but I did stop at home and picked up some binoculars and it is what I seen I wanted to tell you about.” She said.

“What in the world did you see?’ he asked her.

“I went back exactly the twelve miles stopped the car and looked at the other side with them and that is when I seen it. “ she said.

“Seen what in the world are you talking about?” he asked.

“I seen what seems to be a shack I believe it is a duck blind on the other side camouflaged with tree limbs and junk.” She replied.

“Oh there is a lot of distance and with the eye only one wouldn’t see it and if you didn’t know you were looking for, would not even know that it were there.” He replied.

“Exactly!” she said.

“No roads did you view a road or trails?” he asked.

“No not a one it’s a big field and then the small bank leading down to the rivers edge.” She replied.

“ Good work Terri.” He said.

“Terri did the feelings you received from that direction still seem strong?’ he asked.

“Yes they were still strong I know she is alive. I can’t explain it but I just know.” She replied.

“I’m going there today with my partners in a boat we are going to stake out the duck blind and area and see if we can get a lead or rescue her.” He said.

“Wonderful I hope she is okay as far as being alive.” She said sadly.

“I know what you mean alive but no one could be totally okay after an abduction.” he replied.

“Do be careful all of you.” Said Terri.

“We will and were trained for this I will let you know what happens.” He reassured her.

“Well I will let you go for now.” Said Terri.

“Good bye Terri call you when I get back.” He said.
