Girl Missing
Chapter 17
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 03-15-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Aaron stood there for a few seconds after hanging up. Looked at this watch boy I had better get a move on or I will be late meeting up with the guys. He thought to himself.

He reached into the hall closet and grabbed a light vest mainly to conceal his gun in its shoulder holster.

He went out to the driveway and slid into the front seat and backed out of the driveway.

He looked up to his neighbor lady Mrs. Jordon waving. He waved back.

Aaron headed down the road towards the marina in Sioux City instead of at the park in Riverside.

The guys were to meet up there that way they also wouldn’t draw suspicion to the park.

Pouring a cup of coffee for Marcus, Sally was full of doubt and questions.

She watched out the kitchen window. Day two and not a word had they been told about Karly. I will never give up hope not on karly. She thought to herself.

Marcus was finishing his shower he would join here for breakfast.

He to seemed distant with thoughts wondering when this madness would end. And praying to god for Karlys safety. He also was thinking about there visit from Terri.

Mean while back at the detectives division of the station they were at a stale mate already no clues no leads just stuck.

And Tom Rogers the main detective didn’t like being stuck on any thing. He had made absolutely no head way in this case.

Terri closed the front door of her house and locked it.

She was caring the binoculars and some apples in her arms. She headed to her car.

She knew she didn’t tell Aaron but she seen no harm in going to the place and watching from the road.

For them kind of like back up she thought to her self.

She pulled out of her drive way and headed up the road near the river that her and Aaron first took yesterday. I really don’t see any harm in it she thought to herself.

Aaron pulled his car in at the marina next to Chets car.

He seen the rest of the gang down by the docks. He locked his car door and headed in their direction.

Chet stopped and picked up four coffees on the way there.

“Well shove off time.” Commented Gary.

“Aaron up stream about twelve mile right?” he asked.

“Yes it is exactly twelve miles from the river edge where we first seen the prints that night.” Aaron replied.

Gary headed the boat out of the marina upriver. They all watched the sides of the river. Once in a while they would start a conversation to make the time go by.

Aaron shared more about terri and how this all came about with them in more detail than the night before.

Not much for them to see on the trip up river. It was a wide river at this point that Missouri River. It winded around a lot of bends from the inland.

The waters were calm today so the ride was a smooth one.

“There right over along the rivers edge.” Said Aaron.

Bruce had brought along his binoculars. He looked thru them to the other side.

“Well what do you know.” He said.

“What did you see?” asked Aaron

“Looks like and old duck blind.” Said Bruce.

“Just like Terri said this morning.” Commented Aaron.

“She went back out alone yesterday after I went to Gary’s.She took a pair of binoculars along and she seen it too.” Said Aaron.

“Lets move over closer.” Stated Chet.

“Just close enough to check the surrounding area.” Said Gary.

They headed towards the other side of the river.

Terri was watching them with her binoculars from the opposite side. She had parked her car off the road as not to draw attention.

Just in case the place was being, watched by the two unknown assailants.

She sat quietly watching the four officers in the boat.

Her stomach was aching with nervousness over this whole unsolved mystery.

She still was being hit with over powering feelings.

She felt came directly from Karlys fear.
