Chapter 22

copyright 03-17-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

The ambulance pulled up into the loading bay garage at the hospital.

Karly was rushed inside to the emergency staff awaiting her arrival. Mr. And Mrs. Cain was waiting for their daughter also.

Karly reached for them crying and sobbing.

They followed her into an examining room with the nurses and doctors. They watched as the professional medical staff tended to Karly.

Two officers that they had seen before in the front of emergency were now positioned outside of this examination room.

Marcus stepped out of the room he couldn’t bear to see Karly so badly beaten and abused her small frame all bruised and blood all over her from cuts and abrasions that those animals had done to his daughter.

He stood there in the hallway sick to his stomach. He turned and asked the officers a question.

“Why are you officers guarding this door?” he asked.

“Sir until we know how many assailants was involved we will be here to protect the victim from further injury.” Stated one of the officers.

“Also sir it prevent the media reporters from rushing her for a story.” Replied the other officer.

“Okay all of that makes sense. “ said Marcus.

He turned and strolled down the hallway looking for a bathroom he wanted some cool water for his face and a drink.

Stopping at the main desk he asked where he could find the nearest restroom.

He was directed down the hall and to the left.

Sally stayed in the room with karly she now was able to hold Karly’s hand and stroke her forehead.

Karlys eyes were full of fear and pain.

Sally’s heart ached for her daughter’s condition and for her very life. Yet ever so thankful that she was a live.

“We will get through this baby we will.” She reassured karly.
“I know Mom” Karly replied.

“I hurt also bad mom all I could think about was that they were going to kill me.” She sobbed as she replied.

“I know darling I know. said Sally.

“Shhh it will be all right.” Said Sally.

Marcus reentered the room to be with his wife and daughter. He took Karlys hand also.

“I love you sweetie.” He said.

Karly looked up at him and then to her mom she was so thankful to see them again.
