Women Scorned
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 05-31-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

I

“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!”
Why then do men risk such awful anger
Knowing there are no remorseless good-byes?
Oh, say them they must - else stay forever.
So many flowers for each busy bee;
So many blossoms and so little time.

II

Is it about the quality of time
Or quantity that precipitates scorn?
Who would they have their “Wonder Woman” be?
Clearly, pursuit of “Her” invokes anger.
Men could chose to avoid wrath forever,
So why don’t they put a stop to good-byes?

III

Could finding that Special One end good-byes?
Can males be loyal - steadfast all the time?
By this I mean men faithful “Forever?”
Abandonment’s so manifest in scorn
And cheating stokes the black kilns of anger.
Disdain can scorch the wings of each naughty bee.

IV

Such a valid analogy that bee!
And reason for a trillion sad good-byes.
Coveting new blooms - ignoring danger
He’s drawn to strange perfumes all of the time,
While another victim’s stung by his scorn
Confused by his meaning of forever.

V

Men seem incapable of forever.
It’s something they simply don’t want to be.
Knowing how women are loath to be scorned
You’d think they’d learn how not to say good-byes;
Perceive the value of love’s test of time;
Reap joy instead of fury and anger.

VI

Men cannot blame women for their anger
At those too fickle to care forever.
Love should grow stronger over precious time,
Not vacillate as with whimsical bees.
Small wonder women cannot bear good-byes
And wreck havoc at the hint of dour scorn.

VII

Perhaps anger is just desserts for bees
Who must flit forever and buzz good-byes.
Their time will come and they too will be scorned.

Can males be loyal - steadfast all the time?
Heh... and yet you answer your own question...
Men seem incapable of forever.

Now, on the fair side... there are those men, few and far between, who WANT forever. THOSE are the men those angry scorned women seek. All too oft' the woman seeking forever settles for a momentary bee and wonders laters, "Why did he leave me?" The fault lies on BOTH sides of the fence, I believe.

Fortunate for me, I've found my Ex-Bee who's wings are tired and have finally landed him... on me! ;-)

Heh, almost sounds like a poem.
