Watercolor
by Robert Betts (Age: 62)
copyright 06-01-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Brown, brown,
run aground,
Hurry up and turn around.

Green, green,
Silly bean,
Rocks and coral hide unseen.

Blue, blue,
happy hue,
Just relax: enjoy a brew

Author Note: For those who are not mariners, the color of the water indicates depth and is quite useful to avoid crashing into a reef. The above poem is adapted from a rather popular saying and is not exactly original except for this particular rendition of it.

Oh, also, I think this poem's a great way to remember that brown=mud green=reef and blue=good.
Great rendition!

I like it. I don't know much about reefs but I know Lake Michigan. Brown too close to shore or on a sandbar stuck. Green be careful. There may be rocks. Blue, open water, clear sailing.
