Odd-Shaped Cloud

I watch the somber hues of morning
Sedate me finally
As they creep across my room
The grayness soothes
It seeps in like rainwater
Refreshing like the sleep
I was denied
Until now
Now when the stars are fading
Now when the moon is slowly
Becoming just an odd-shaped cloud
Hanging before my vision
A whispered sigh as it too finds rest
As the grayness becomes violated
With the rape of sunrise
Bright blossoming red and purple
Blood on the nimbus
Bruises in the air
Slowly now the eyes are falling
Slowly now the breathing settles
Slowly now the dream becomes the man
Rising, falling chest
Under a sky so fiery and violent
Descending into resting bliss
Warm, peaceful silence
