Out in the garden
Where the ground starts to harden
Grows a hollyhock bush
Its leaves are so lush
Humming birds sit in no rush
Butterflies fly by and brush
Tender green leaves
As water drips from the porch evees
A path now filled with mud
Water splashes with a thud
I walk down to the water pump
There I seen a clump
Hollyhocks of all colors
Seemed they should be in the parlors.
Fresh rain scent
Reminded me of peppermint
I pumped the water
I will come back later.
