Catching Inspirations
by Laryalee Fraser (Age: 68)
copyright 04-14-2002

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I don't know where they come from. . . flipping
through a window, hiding in
the cushions or the drapes. They often
wear a most audacious grin.

They're skittish little devils; peeking
'round a corner just to tease
before they vanish, leaving nothing
more substantial than a sneeze.

I catch one on the rebound, darting
by -- its touch exudes a surge
of light that races through my senses;
frenzied thoughts begin to merge.

I don't complain; one inspiration
in my pen is worth much more
than two that scampered free. Hear that?
I think one's knocking at my door....

.....(Phooey! It was NOT an inspiration...
just a magazine subsciption salesman!)

How dare that salesman interrupt your verbal dance! And I was just having fun. LOL. Well, maybe next time it will be Jehovah's Witnesses. At least you'll get something for your time instead of being hit up for money, LOL> Hugs.

'inspiration' is a tricky little devil, always showing up when I have no pen, or am sleeping.
I loved reading this, very well done.
