Consequences
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 04-19-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Inevitable and inescapable,
they will seek you -
like ravenous banshees
anxious to disembowel your soul.

Prowling in the stygian night, where you quiver afraid;
lurking in the daylight, where you pretend to be safe
- when you least expect them -
they are irrevocably pending.

Irrepressible and irreversible,
they will find you
and revel in your torment;
For you must always suffer them.

Curses cannot stop them;
prayers are futile too.
You are Dr. Frankenstein,
their delusional Creator.
You and your inexorable monsters
must burn together.
