Wonders
I suddenly saw a monarch butterfly
Where he left a caterpillar lie
An army beetle lumbered on a trail to somewhere
A seed fell no bigger than a hair
A late night rain fought with the morning dew
To dampen the sunlit leaves on the garden floor
A magnolia blossom spread its pedals wide
Revealing the place where small things hide
I saw a glistening strand of a spider's lair
Giving reason for the twig suspended there
I saw all this in the sun's first ray
What wonders are in store for me to-day
