As I Looked Down At His Body so still, Wanting
To Hold Him and to Tell Him Again..
.......
"He will be forever young, never reaching his twenty third birthday. God I loved him so."
Our First Born
How proud we felt when you were born
Your beautiful tiny face, covered in lace
You have been told about it before
But tonight I felt the need to tell you more
You grew into a wonderful son
Making your mother and I so proud
We never really worried about you
Knowing that you always knew what to do
Going to school and working part time
So when you got out on your own, you would be fine
Joining the Army was a good thing
When you graduated from boot camp, a lump to my throat it did bring
Remember that first day, the weather was so cold and damp
We picked up the old car at the airport
Left there by our son, the champ
Having the bent fork, I was able to open the vent
Enter the car and turning the key, off we went
It was a long trip, but time well spent
Now I want to hold you and tell you how much I love you
But instead here you lay, in the satin lined coffin
As the honor guards stand by
To take you away, to God in heaven, high in the sky
Note; also writes under deputy2
