Cocoons of the Satellite Gods
by Lisa W.
copyright 06-06-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Brainwashed by the belief of freedom
Web strings have snagged them
promising enrichment of their paltry lives,
encased by the cocoons of the Satellite Gods.

The Internet highway has enveloped and engulfed
what once was reality...
Stagnant and complacent minds now stare at
32 bit color screens, mesmerizing the users and abusers.

Protected by the wall of words
that shield them from conflict,
they terrorize and stalk their victims
from keyboards linked to cyberspace.

They are sheltered in their peaceful tranquility,
never to be pierced by the swords of realism
never to place a name or face to their prey,
delighting themselves in their predatory game.

They will never escape, for the cocoon is strong
woven tightly to prevent movement
enabling little chance of return to the
reality of life.

The only recourse to stop them…
would be to cease the flow of electricity
to their weapons
and tightly wrap
the power cord of their existence
around their neck
until they breathe no more.

Ouch do I sense a bitterness to someone? This speaks volumes and it fits today much better than the day you wrote this. Five and a half years later the cyber praetors are even more tricky and prevalent! Be careful! Anthony
