Shadow Dance
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 05-30-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

My emotions all tightened and entwined
Drifting in an out as if they were spellbind

Rushing and pounding my emotions
begin to prance
Laced with confusion and excitement
right into a shadow dance

My composure I must a rest before
he see's if by chance
His eyes they shift towards
my position in a glance

Oh my heart does beat as if to break
My hearts desire is now at stake

Please do not move closer than a length
I do not have any more strength

Time has run out for this night
My shining knight has left everything
is all right

I really do need to learn how to dance
I must practice at my first chance

Until I do
I shall only shadow dance
