The Light of an Echo
by Laryalee Fraser (Age: 68)
copyright 05-30-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

The light of an echo has rippled the wings
of our shackled awareness. It teases the threads
of our minds and it leaps in the splash of our dreams.

It reflects all the questions we've painted on rocks
by the side of our trail -- all our centuries marked
in the colors of bruises and pain. Still we look
for a view that has never been seen, and we carve
little signs that say, "Guess what? I've been!" But we're not
really sure what we've done and we don't understand
what it means. We just know that we have to climb higher!

And always it hovers -- just out of our reach;
the light of an echo, an echo of light.

This had such a soothing spiritual balm. So reflective, so full of "light" in insight. Great Job.
