His footprints now are firm and deep
from long-limbed strides across his day.
Yet in those prints I see the shape
of toddler's feet in eager play.
His hands are skilled, and on the wall
now hangs an engineer's degree.
But in those hands I still see swirls
of pat-a-cake and claps of glee.
He walks beside his own small child;
they play their games, sing off-key songs.
Thus life continues, hand-in-hand,
and love still fits where it belongs.

I really can't fault this beautiful poem dedicated to two generations of the Fraser clan. I always hestitate to give a rating of 10 for, as the Italians say, *Nessuno e perfetto*. However, in this case I would have felt stingy had I not given it the highest rating.
That the poem means such a lot to you is probably why the muse directed you to write such meaningful and evocative words and fashion them into a poem of beauty and love.
Thank you all so much for these heartwarming comments!
This poem means a lot to me, and if anyone happens to drop back again, here is a link to a photo of my son and granddaughter for whom it was written!
