So Long, Au Revoir, Arrivederci, & Adios

When all that's left of love
are the feelings left behind
When all we've got to hold
are the memories in our rmind

Be grateful for what we had
forget what we have not
Because if we've loved at all
we've more than others have got

Sometimes we can't explain
or figure out what went wrong
All we know is we're lost
imprisoned in some sad song

We have a choice to go on
or get caught up in the past
To wonder what will be or
figure out why it didn't last

In the end it's better
to live in positive lights
See only the good things
keep the future in our sights

As we walk our paths in life
grin to yourself and say,
"I held the world in my hands
with you in my arms that day."

Remember, please, the romance
and how our hearts were won
Remember passion's play and
Don't regret anything we've done

Good bye to riveting romps
Good bye to the times of play
Good bye to all we said
Good bye to what we didn't say

So long comfort feelings
au revoir to the things we knew
arrivederci, love
Adios to my friend in you

Sometimes a little mistake
can be the biggest one in our life.
Sometimes it can ruin the moment,
or destroy a husband and wife.
We can't always hold on to love,
for time can take it away.
But it can't erase my memory,
that's something that's here to stay!

----- To a lost love

Love it! It flows very nicely. It runs very cloes to mine. Yours is a little more light hearted though, but other than that it has the same ending point.

I just adore your work.

Wonderful. I am about to get a divorce, and this is what I've been considering doing. Thanks for showing me it CAN be done! Karyn

A wonderful reflective verse. The pain of a moment can sometimes take a lifetime of thought to heal.

Beneath the jovial mood, I sense a wistfulness, BrytEyz...We must move on, although it takes time to recover. I love your purposeful stride and determination!
