Sandman's Ball
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 06-13-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Most nearly every night
Just when the evening is right
All the star's in the heaven are bright
I see his image in the distant light

Sphere's of star's light
dance about me
He watches me in an intense
way so aerie
He begins to motion me to him
with a curtsy
My mind is in a spell allured by
all the stars so drifty

I fall back into his massive embrace
My heart strings he begins to unlace
Steady my thoughts I must brace
I longed all day for his soft face

He has met me most every night
I know him well this sandman
Just when the evening is right
He holds me in his wingspan

I long everyday for our time in
endless space
No time could ever erase our
love or outrace

I would spend eternity
within the dream
And sip on the treasures
of the night in a day dream
