Pecan Sandies
by Rachel J.(aka) Sunny MacLeod
copyright 06-09-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Pecan Sandies

4-cups margarine
2-cups shortening
1-cup sugar
4-tablespoons water
4-tablespoons vanilla
12-cups flour
1-teas.salt
6-cups fine-chopped pecan nuts

Cream shortening and margarine sugar.
Cut in your flour like you would for piecrust, using two butter knives or a wire pastry blender. .
Put water and vanilla together in a cup before adding.
After you've blended all ingredients. Then add chopped nuts and kneed.
Form little balls about "1"inch in diameter.
Then bake at 375* till slightly brown on the bottoms.
Let them cool completely. They can be placed in the refrigerator.
When Cookies are completely cool, place in a bag with 1-cup, powdered sugar, and shake until cookie balls are completely coated.
Shake a couple hands full at a time. The cooler they are the less sugar they take. It may be necessary to put them through the shaker bag twice.

Thank you for your comments…enjoy!
