Redemptions Nightmare
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 06-19-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

In the nightmare of redemption
the shadows rock
All sensation and thoughts
of the mind are in lock

In the barracks of revelry
the ferns think
My cold liquid blood engraves
them in ink

In the kettle of clarity
the fruits trick
Within my minds shadow
they hide in the attic

In the closet of corruption
the horses graze
Designing in my best memories
of time past forte

In the burrow of intellect
the peacocks tempt
My life is endless with thoughts
of escape and attempt

In the graveyard of arrogance
the planets
Onslaughts of death and pain
hinged to rivets

In the nightmare of desertion
the zealots rise
As the sun begins to claim
the new horizon
my nightmare I despise

Nice use of rhyme. Very thought provoking verse and use of images.
