  Eileen Waldron's Sweet Dreams....

My dear Eileen, I have a treat for you.
It’s from my grandmother, wise and true.
It will tickle your fancy, that’s for sure.
Cause it’s made of Chocolate, really pure.

In a large mixing bowl, you will need to add.
Two tablespoons of vanilla, imitation is sad.
Two whole eggs, although cholesterol is bad
And three tablespoons Cocoa, now she’s glad.

Your not done yet, so you’d better wait.
One and half cups of sugar, dentists bait.
One small can evaporated milk, any state.
Now add half-cup of butter, it’s not to late.

Now take your spoon and turn it fast
Or get your mixer and have a blast.
When well mixed, pour it right past
Into a 9” unbaked, pie shell at last.

Now open the oven and throw it in.
Set the temperature to 350F within.
Leave it to bake for at least 45 min.
Clean the counter, scraps in the bin.

When done, remove from oven to cool.
Touch it now, you’ll be burnt you fool.
Once cooled, cut a big slice with a tool.
And enjoy this Fudge Pie, a dieter’s jewel.

Poet’s Note: This is actually my grandmother’s recipe for Fudge Pie, which we served in the tearoom. Make it up and watch your waistline grow. Just tuggin’ at your sweet tooth, Eileen……. Have a good one. Trish.
