Winter Rose
by Peggy Bertrand
copyright 06-24-2002

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Lonesome winter rose
Next to your beauty nothing
comes close

Flurries of winters snow
Stain your petals with sorrow

Wise winter owl
Winters chilling winds on the prowl

Winter spirits princess image
Makes way for the seekers voyage

Naked tree limbs
Fold and praise in hymns

Distant star light
Brings forth wonder bright

Esscences of the winter rose
Twines in the strands of willow

Sparkle lightly within its veins
Thorns prick a fluid drips and stains

She is beauty to unfold
Come see in the winter to behold

Great job, Peggy... You certainly captured the essence of winter.

I like the flow of this verse. Starting with a rose and moving to more. Great job.
