From the gaze
by William Robbins
copyright 07-03-2002

Age Rating: 18 to 127

From the gaze
at marble roof pedestals,
there is a heartbeat of profoundness
when a stagnant abyss of lethargic incandescence
turns into
a resplendent atlas
filled with eloquent cherries
that bounce against the mind’s walls
creating fireflies of ideas
along with furnace whiffs
that push the needle
on one’s mood thermostat
from lugubrious waltzes in a morass of confidence umbras
and to an obsession with seeing firmament staircases.
A waterfall cascades from a still small voice,
creating a jigsaw puzzle of ghostly faces
eating the pudding of peace
and leaving behind
the crumbs of acuity
upon one’s lips.

I do enjoy your mind-stretchers, William...my favorite here is
"a jigsaw puzzle of ghostly faces
eating the pudding of peace"
Now that's an unforgettable image!
