Penning the Spires

  Penning the Spires

The teasing and taunt filaments of day,
those chilling strokes and fibrous lighting sparkles
are like a marquee’s tantalizing bulbs
shining in an effervescent anonymity
and decorating the mind
with luxuriant, jeweled slivers of imagery
when one gazes
in a dilated intensity
towards the solidified medallions of inventive sway
wrapped around the silent concrete and steel respecters
of the gods of solid.
They rise subtly with a muted shield of curiosity,
becoming unspoken, electrified
sensory obelisks of abstract origin and proportion
that sweat a fount of profoundness
raining from the fingertips
if one can hear
its creator’s meter of design
intended as a physical caricature
borrowed from the plain of winged springs.
